The only thing we didn't think was that great was the choice of flat iron. The Remington flat iron is a flat iron for people who have never used a top-tier flat iron and are looking for something cheap. Nothing wrong with that, it cost so little money that you really can't complain. But if you are looking for much better flat ironing and curling results, it may be wise to invest in a hair tool that is made for ultimate performance and that will last for a long time.

Every naturalista knows (or SHOULD know) that ending "wash day" without sealing in the moisture can end in a dried out disaster, even excessive hair breakage.
I don't have time for all that foolishness. And you know what? That won't happen to me or you because we'll discuss the 3 best ways to seal in that moisture in order to keep your hair moisturized, healthy and ready to GROW!
There are 3 primary ways to seal moisture into your luscious locks after deep conditioning: moisturizers and hair milks, natural oils and proven leave-in conditioners. You do not have to use them all but here are the differences so you know what will work best for you.
Although most natural hair moisturizers are water-based, it is best to apply them while the hair is wet so it can retain as much moisture as possible, as they are most effective when locking in moisture that is already on your hair strands.
The practice of using oils on your hair after washing is known as "sealing", the practice of sealing after washing reduces the rate of moisture loss, which is critical for healthy hair.
People will use oil as a part of their L.O.C. method to prevent dryness, reduce frizz, and push wash day back a couple more days if possible.
You can use a pure oil like jojoba, grapeseed or avocado oil or even create your own special blend from a variety of oils.
Leave-in conditioners are loaded with strengthening and moisturizing properties. They are meant to periodically replace your daily conditioner or deep conditioner.
If you're in a hurry and don't have time to allow the ingredients in your daily conditioners and deep conditioners to absorb, then use a leave-in conditioner.
Note that NOT ALL leave-in conditioners are formulated with hydrolyzed proteins, so the bottle may say leave-in conditioner even though it works more like a moisturizer. Always check the ingredients list.
Many naturals have a love for leave-in conditioners because they are usually a lightweight product for hair, give you great slip, and add moisture and strengthening benefits to natural hair.
If you have fine to very fine hair strands you may find that you won't need to ever seal with oil because most moisturizers and leave-in conditioners tend to be formulated from lots of oils and butters, enough for fine hair.
If you have fine strands or looser curls and waves, then a hair milk is a great option for you.
Whenever you want a refresher between wash days but don’t feel like doing a co-wash, try reviving your natural hair with a little moisturizer to quench your dry and parched ends.

The L.O.C. Method has been around for a while and for very good reason.
If your natural hair sucks up everything you use to moisturize it and still cries out for more moisture, then it's probably time to test out what so many other naturals SWEAR BY, the L.O.C Method.
The L.O.C. Method has been a hot topic around the web and natural hair community for the longest now because it helps so many natural-haired women go days without having to CONSTANTLY re-moisturize their luscious locks.
L.O.C. is an abbreviation for leave-in conditioner, oil and cream. The name itself tells us naturals the types of hair products we should apply as well as the order to use them.
What makes the L.O.C. Method different from so many other moisturizing methods is the layering of products in a specific order to maximize moisture retention in your natural hair. The layer of hair-healin
g moisture is systematically locked in by two products which are both known to be excellent sealants: oil and hair butter.
Both oil and hairs butters are universally adored for their ability to create a moisture layer along your hair shaft that helps to prevent water from dissipating, in effect, helping the hair stay healthily moisturized for much longer.
By using oil first and then a heavier and thicker butter on top, you're making absolutely sure that as much moisture as possible remains on the hair shaft which is very beneficial for natural hair honeys who struggle to keep the needed moisture in their hair.
The L.O.C. Method will work best for Type 4 naturals because our hair is commonly very thirsty for moisture. BUT, also keep in mind that your hair porosity level will also determine whether the L.O.C. Method works for you or not.
If your hair is normal to high porosity then you should have no problem with layering products on your hair. However, if you have low porosity hair and try this method you risk of getting limp and oily hair that could be susceptible to a lot of product build up. Lastly, if you’re not a Type 4 natural but still struggle with moisture retention then give the L.O.C. Method a try – so many natural swear by it!
As with all things curly hair related it’s all about trial and error so if your current routine isn’t quite cutting it then give this method a try and modify it to suit your needs.
If your curls are easily weighed down, or if you suffer from product build up you can limit the number of products you apply to your hair by applying a creamy or buttery product as your styler.
Make sure you try it out for at least 2 weeks or three wash sessions before deciding if it works for your hair or not.
She uses a unique blow dryer attachment called a diffuser that is used to spread the airflow across a large section of her natural hair.
It is mainly used for curly hair, because the air flow does not cause frizz or interfere with the curl pattern. A diffuser works well for wash and go hairstyles, as you can imagine many natural ladies don’t enjoy leaving the house with their soaking wet hair. Nobody is trying to go out and get sick just for trying to be cute! Haa...
And for most women when they wear a wash and go completely air drying is not an option, many times natural hair can and will take 24 hours or more to dry.
Try waking up with your hair matted to your head, because it was still wet from the day before and tell me how much you like it. I guarantee that it's absolutely no fun.

How to Wear the Puff Cuff on Thick or Fine Natural Hair
How many hair clamps has your curly hair broken? Well, no more! Finally, there’s a hair clamp that can handle the challenge of thick, textured hair. Meet the Puff Cuff, a “remix” of the banana clip, uniquely designed to hold and style even the thickest of thick hair!
The Puff Cuff’s unique teeth are designed to lock into the texture or curl of your hair and hold the clamp in place, NOT to glide through the hair like a comb or banana clip. While the concept may be similar to the old "banana clip,” the Puff Cuff functions differently by working with your hair instead of against it.

Facebook posts have been getting shared like crazy of this new hair tool, questions are being raised and just the thought of a brush that can straighten in a couple of minutes, much quicker than a flat-iron, has everybody requesting a new gift for the upcoming holiday season.
The brush is from an Italian company called DAFNI and is a "hair straightening ceramic brush." The idea is similar to any other straightening tool - you slowly run the hot ceramic through your hair and it gets rid of any waves or kinks.
What DAFNI claims makes they're product better than competitors is that it has more surface area than the traditional straightener, which means that hair could be done in as little as two minutes. Plus since it's already a brush, the hair wouldn't get tangled, according to the beauty product company.
Why Is The Dafni Straightener Brush So Instantly Popular?
This new hair straightening brush is popular because of ease-of-use in our opinion. Beauty-conscious women are always looking for ways to change our look and style. Looking the same day after day gets boring. Even though we may not straighten often it's nice to have the ability to do so and do it quickly. So the question is…
Does the Dafni work on Kinkier Natural Black Hair?
Well, here is a video from a Facebook user named Kimberley Satterwhite, she posted her first time using it and she thought you might like that we share it with you right here. Check it out!
Be honest, what do you think of the results?
Given the texture of the little girl’s hair that it was demonstrated on, do you think this will work for your texture? It looks very good to us!
BUT.... BUT.... It costs $300 (Now down to $200) For $300 it needs to wash, condition and blow dry my hair too!
Here's Kimberly's (the mom) Comment From Her Video Post:
Sometimes things look so good you have to think, "That just can't be!" And "It's just too good to be true!" Like how I earn 6 figures as a stay at home mom. I just say, "Let's just Try it & see"! I understand how it feels to be a total skeptic of something! So I'm going to try out the 'Dafni Ceramic Straightening Brush'.
DOES IT WORK?! You can see for yourself IF In Fact IT Works or not?! This takes the place of flat ironing and saves you MAJOR TIME! I am TOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!
NOTE: I was so excited to use this i didn't wash my daughters hair. She does have GEL in her hair i just ran it through really quick to test it. Imagine this on her CLEAN hair! WOW. I'm very happy with this product!
Here is everything you need to know about how to use a black tea rinse for shedding hair and stopping hair loss.
Black tea rinses can give your hair that extra growth boost that you desire, especially when you thoroughly cleanse and condition your hair.
According to many natural hair gurus this hair saving rinse absolutely works. So, for you tea heads out there who love a big cup of antioxidants to start your morning, you may want to give your hair and scalp a sip of it as well.
Whether you are looking to reduce shedding and add shine, elasticity, and bounce, there are a few rinses that you can use to help with your desired result. Check out this black tea rinse for hair method, and if you wish, add your own mixes to cater to your hair and beauty needs.
Black tea can be used to reduce hair shedding and save your locs. The caffeine in the better black tea brands help block DHT, the main hormone that is at fault for hair loss. Black tea actually contains more caffeine than coffee, and it works very well.
Here's what you do. Simply apply the black tea rinse after you thoroughly shampoo and/or condition your natural hair. Some naturals like to leave the rinse in. Other curlies like to apply the black tea rinse while they are deep conditioning their hair.
Black Tea Rinse For Hair Helps...
If you want to do a black tea rinse to stop shedding hair, here is what you will do:
Get 2-4 bags of black tea and steep them in hot, boiling water. Let them steep for a few hours, or overnight if needed. The stronger the brew, the better your hair results will be. Pour the black tea into a spray bottle, After you shampoo your natural hair, spray the black tea concoction onto your hair and scalp. Let it sit for 20-30 minutes.
Wash out the rinse and deep condition your hair. WARNING: The black tea rinse can actually dry out you hair, so it is important that you condition your hair afterwards. Do not skip that step, trust us. To ensure that your moisture is retained, try adding a top-notch natural hair deep conditioner on top of the tea rinse.
*Warning* Black tea is a natural hair dye. Be mindful that your hair color could possibly change.
Several famous YouTubers have confidently claimed that this black tea rinse has worked wonders for them with just one use. Some say they religiously do this black tea rinse every 2 weeks, and have received more than amazing results. Of course, every woman's head of hair is different. But this is good, trust it.
Here’s the hair science behind Black Tea when it comes to your hair; it contains lots of caffeine.

It's no secret, coconut oil for hair has been a true blessing for women wanting to bring their damaged curls back to bouncy life.
Many things can cause your hair to look bad. Straightening your hair too often of even an illness can cause your hair to lose its life and luster. If your hair ever looks dull or starts feeling brittle or straw-like, this new coconut oil and honey hair recipe works wonders and usually only after using it twice, you can have your bouncy curls back and have hair that looks ready for any beauty magazine photo shoot. I recommend this to ANYONE with damaged hair/fuzzy, undefined curls. So many ladies who are new to this hair revitalization method are absolutely AMAZED to see the quick and gorgeous results.
Coconut Oil For Hair & Honey Method: What You'll Need
A few drops of essential oil for fragrance (optional)
MELT the coconut oil in the microwave for a few seconds - Don't cook it, just melt it.
POUR the coconut oil for hair into a bowl, add the honey, and mix. You may have to work at it, as the two don't easily mix. Add the essential oil at this point if you wish. The mask does not smell bad if you don't add any fragrance!
APPLY the (still hot) mixture to your wet hair from ends to roots.
PUT on your Hair Therapy Wrap, alternatively you can warm a towel in the microwave and wrap your hair in it.
WAIT 45 minutes, or for really damaged hair you can leave the treatment in overnight (just wear a shower cap)
Final Details: How To Use Coconut Oil For Hair
Apply the mask to wet hair, concentrating on the ends, where most of the hair damage occurs. (If there are still some solid bits of coconut oil in the hair mask, just work them into your hair.) Wrap your hair up in a bun and place hair therapy wrap or wet towel over it. Let the mask sit for 45 minutes, then wash rinse in the shower and follow with your normal shampoo and favorite conditioner. When your hair dries, you’ll see instant shine. Apply the mask once a week and your hair will be softer, shinier, and look healthier over time.
One thing to note: coconut oil can make tubs and floors very slippery! It will drip, even with a shower cap on, so be careful. Also, if you take a bath while the coconut oil hair mask is absorbing, some of the oil will make its way into the tub, giving your skin a hydrating treatment. Remember, using coconut oil for hair is only one of its MANY uses, besides using it for conditioning and hair growth treatments, using coconut oil for skin and face brings many beauty benefits like soft and younger looking skin. It truly is a miracle oil.

Simple & clear Tria hair removal laser 4X review: Here's the deal. When using the Tria laser hair removal 4X system, you can start seeing major improvements within a matter of 10-12 weeks.
Some women say that they actually forgot to shave for up to a week at a time and the hair the remains is so fine that it's not even noticeable. But it all depends on your hair type and where the hair is on your body as well.
There are some tougher areas to work on, like the hair on the big toes for hairy men, areas like that are sure to need the complete 6 months of treatments to get the job done. But since it is so easy to do, you can do it from the privacy of your own home. Not a big deal.
Paying The Big Bucks... Is Tria Worth It?
We priced laser hair removal procedures in salons recently.
And depending on the area you live, it's not going to be cheap. In the Florida area, it is about $500 for 6 treatments on smaller areas. That would include your bikini line, underarms is another area…and so forth. The cost adds up quickly. And what they don’t tell you up front…is that you will still need to come back into the salon later for follow up visits. That is the worst part for people that don't enjoy trips to the salon, or the repeated out-of-pocket costs that you'll pay. Salons are also known for raising their prices as they see fit, so don't get comfortable with any "set prices".
The Tria Laser Hair 4X Removal System is the ONLY at home laser that can give you the same permanent results as the professional systems found at dermatologists and salons. Right now, the Tria at home hair removal system is on sale on Amazon for only $395 and Amazon also has a very helpful Tria hair removal laser 4x review page. But, back to the price, that is a big cost for some lower income people, but for others, they realize that they will pay out less money over a matter of months. How?
Comparing Upfront Tria Hair Removal Cost VS. Year After Year Costs
Think of the price of a razor each week (that is if you change your razor weekly. Some of us change it more often), a can of shaving cream/lotion each month.
If we go with the average cost of a refill razor head being $2.50 and the average can of Shaving Cream/lotion being $3.50. The prices add up like this:
52 Razor Blades = $130
12 Cans of Shaving Cream/Lotion = $42
Total for each and every year = $172
You can see how this will just continue to add up year after year after year.
You could actually pay for this Tria hair removal laser 4X system with the money you'd spend on 2 years of shaving supplies, and even better than that, be done with shaving FOREVER in just 6 months! If you're anything like the rest of us, never needing to shave again is worth more than can be explained by numbers.
So, every 2 weeks, what will you be in for with your Tria hair removal laser 4X?
STEP 1- Prepare. Thoroughly cleanse, shave and towel-dry your skin.
STEP 2- Customize. The Tria Laser has 5 comfort levels that will help you customize treatments to your personal comfort level.
STEP 3- Apply. Place the laser tip on your skin. After each beep, just lift and place the laser tip about 1/4 of an inch and move it over the areas you wish to treat.
Normal sized legs take about 10 minutes each to do, underarms and bikini lines usually take about 5 minutes total. So, you are finished in about 25 minutes. You'll only need to do this once every 2 weeks. Many users report that halfway through their treatments they see quite a difference in slowed hair growth.
This Tria hair removal laser 4X review is meant for the men and women who have the money for such an item, it just works. Most people hate shaving and I especially don't like wasting money on shaving supplies.
We received a Tria Laser Hair Removal 4X System for review purposes. We are under no obligation to post a positive review or do anything. We also have no financial backing or linking to their company. If a product stinks, we will tell you. Period.
When the QRedew came on the market, it was different from other products. Hair product review after review talked about how it could be used as a moisturizer, a curl refresher AND as a deep conditioner tool.
The Q-Redew handheld hair steamer is great for naturals because it uses warm steam as mist to enhance your hair’s natural texture and volume. The Q-Redew hydrates, reshapes and restyles dry hair in minutes according to its site.
What Are Q Redew Reviews Raving About?
Ease of Use – Women are to busy to be bothered with complicated hair equipment, people have lives to live, jobs to work and kids to raise. The Q-Redew hair steamer is super easy to set up and use. You simply fill the water reservoir, plug it in, and wait for the red light to say it is ready. The bonus is you can steam your hair in sections. If you are styling your hair, you steam, add your moisturizers, and style that section. If you are interrupted, you can stop and continue where you left off.
Works as a Super Moisturizer – So as you should already know, heat helps moisturizers get into the hair shaft. The Q Redew reviews have been claiming that this machine is like a hand-held super-moisturizer. When your hair needs a serious shot of moisture, naturals have been turning to the QRedew to handle the job. For example, If you have an old, dry twist out. You can just steam it, add a premium leave-in conditioner, and seal with an oil. Some naturals choose to do this instead of co-washing their natural hair.
Curl-Refreshing Ability – While water is moisturizing for natural hair, too much can cause tangling and excess shrinkage. This is a problem many naturalistas have to fight against. With the QRedew Steamer, you can quickly refresh your kinks and curls without applying too much water and causing shrinkage. For many naturals this advantage is a game changer.
The Q-Redew Work as a Detangler – Detangling my thick, dense hair is a battle that many naturals dread. Who doesn't HATE detangling? Well, according to the Q-redew reviews, when you use the natural hair steamer, it just melts through tangles with ease.
Safer Way to Stretch Your Hair – Many Q-Redew reviews mentioned that this tool is amazing for stretching your hair. When you steam an older do, your hair can get that moisturized blow out look!
Here are a Few Q-Redew Reviews From Other Naturals
First I want to say sorry for this long review but there is a good reason for it.
Ever since I found out about this product I have been trying to come up with clever ways to steam my hair without shelling out all the money for the Q-Redew. I tried using the steamer from my Caruso Steam Rollers, it was very uncomfortable and there wasn't enough steam for me. So I went out and bought a My Little Steamer, for $20, and there was a LOT of steam coming out of that little thing and it got pretty hot.
It worked for me but I started to notice something on my hair I have never seen, small white dots about 1/4 in. from the bottom of my strands, and when I pulled on them, my hair would break off. I looked up possible reasons why this could be happening and I found out that these are usually caused by using heat on wet hair, that causes bubbles to form on the strands of hair, called bubble hair.
You may be wondering why this is a part of my review, it is a warning to you all. I don't use heat on my hair very often, I feel that the extreme heat from this small steamer (My Little Steamer particularly) is what caused these bubbles on my hair, and I have seen reviews where women say they use this steamer on their hair, and I would not recommend it. That steamer is definitely good for clothes, but not for hair (but that is whole other review). Using that streamer was the only thing in my regimen that had changed over the 2 weeks I was using it and noticed the damage to my hair. I really want to stress that in this review.
Ladies although you may have a found a loop hole around buying this device, you might end up experiencing the damage I experienced just to save a few bucks. Finally this brings me to my review of the Q-Redew. I know the price is scarey, but go sign up on the Q-Redew mailing list and wait on a good coupon, I used a $20 off coupon I got for a Black Friday sale, so in the end, the damage to my hair from the clothes steamer and the coupon made me decide to fork out the money for this device. I received it today, once they shipped it I got it within a few days, a lot sooner than I had expected.
I have 3c/4a medium porosity hair, and I am working on 4 day old dirty hair that has been in an afro puff 3 of those days and today I am rocking flattened, limp, slept on twist out from last night...I plugged this baby in, waited for it to heat up and went to work. I am very pleased with the results, my hair looking good and full and happy. It's looking like a good third day hair where my curls are full and yet still a little defined but not a matted mess. I only had to refill this once to complete my hair. I am excited about using this for my detangling and deep conditioning sessions.
It is a lot smaller than I expected. I like the vintage mint green color, and I am very pleased that I decided to purchase this product. I do feel like women who like crunchy or stiff ultra defined curls may not like this product. I personally like that it give my hair volume and makes it look fuller within minutes. I don't need ultra defined curls I just want big happy healthy hair. I only knocked off 1 star because of the price.
I have NEVER had a better product. I use this thing at least twice a week. I steam, detangle, condition, and use it as a facial treatment some nights. I LOVVVVE it! I have 2 different textures in my hair, fine 4b on top and thick 4a on bottom. The texture on top always breaks no matter the technique. I have maximum hydrated, curly and tightly coiled, wide toothed combed, water only, hennaed, and oiled and sealed, It still breaks when I detangle. This Q-Redew has cut my breakage down and my anxiety. I have retained my entire 1 and 1/2 inches over the past 3 months. I even use it on my kids hair who all have different textures on the chart.
I dont have to spend dreadful time in the bathtub detangling their hair. I pull out the Q-Redew and its detangled, oiled, and styled in 10 minutes at the most AND it looks, feels, and is healthy. I can not express how much I love this thing. If you are having issues with your hair, if you have tried every method in the book, if you have curly, coily, or kinky hair then this tool is for you!
The only con I have experienced is that I have to refill the thing after each section of hair. To cut down on the annoyance of that, I keep a water bottle and fill up after each section. Refilling is not enough for me to remove a star. I fill like if the receptacle was bigger, the steamer could not be handheld, so I'm cool with it.
I hate screwing with my hair...there, said it. I am not one to spend an hour fussing and fussing ---I want to wash it, scrunch some product in it and go. And I want to have my hair look good the next day as well. Yup, asking for a lot. Well, with the Q-Redew Steamer, I can spend 5 minutes or less on my naturally curly hair on day two (often day 3 as well) and go. This item is so worth the money---it really works!
For my 4c hair that constantly needs moisturizing, this little gadget is simple and easy to use in the mornings. I do the LCO method almost every morning so this really helps. And it absolutely helps with detangling. I use it for everything. If you have 4c (really 4e) type hair, then you need this. Trust me!!
This product is easy to use. Fill the reservoir, plug it up, wait a few minutes... then bam!!! it's ready for use. It doesn't do as great a job as the hooded steamers, but its great for a midweek moisture booster.
Natural hair breakage treatment tips are important because hair breakage is so common, so let’s address the some of the major causes of why it happens and how you can fix it. Hair breakage is generally a result of lack of hydration, lack of protein or damaging styling techniques.
Knowing which one or combination of these you are battling with will help you get your hair back on track the fastest. You can also use the natural hair breakage treatment tips in the infographic below to solve the situation.
Water is always and will always be the primary source of moisture for hair and is the single most important factor in the hydration levels of hair. When you hair is dehydrated, it loses elasticity and is prone to snapping when you comb it or even handle it with your hands.
To keep your hair supple, water should touch all hair textures a minimum of once per week, even when protective styling with braids or twists by simply washing your hair or just spritzing it with water/water based product or a water/oil mixture if washing is not required and then sealed with an oil or butter if needed. We like Qhemet Biologics Amla & Olive Heavy Cream which is 100% Vegetarian and a product that we can’t get enough of.
We’d love to say that putting water on your hair and scalp is enough, but it’s simply just not true. Water consumption is equally important for well hydrated hair and skin, so please drink up!
Drinking water helps to keep your scalp balanced from the “inside” and by doing so promotes healthy and strong hair growth which in turns leads to less breakage. You can use all the products in the world promoted for healthy hair but if you are not getting enough water your efforts will be akin to putting a band-aid on a gaping wound. Try to always get your 8-10 glasses of water per day, and no, substituting that with coke or crystal light does not count.
Natural Hair Breakage from Excessive Heat Styling
Frequent heat styling from blow drying to flat ironing can also increase dryness inevitably leading to breakage. If you plan on using heat on your hair, be smart in your approach. Always keep these methods to a minimum and use moisturizing conditioners to replace lost moisture, increasing hair elasticity.
A monthly protein treatment can also be beneficial depending on the extent of the damage to the hair, but generally speaking, reducing the heat and increasing the moisture mends hair as best any practices can besides cutting any hair that shows signs of severe damage such as not reverting back to your natural curl or wave pattern when its wet. We like Aubrey Organics Honey Suckle Rose shampoo and conditioner and Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Restorative Conditioner to help keep hair balanced when styling with heat.
All natural products formulated for hair generally contain a combination of ingredients that when used separately or in their natural form are safe for human consumption with the exception of ingredients that allow for water and oil blending (emulsifiers), preservatives and fragrance (essential oils). So mind your ingredient labels and seek these types out for the safest, most effective products that are almost pure enough to eat.
Breakage From Off Balance Protein & Moisture Levels
Protein and moisture balance are also critical to keeping hair in the best possible condition as hair is primarily comprised of over 90 percent keratin protein. Protein in the hair is adversely impacted by chemical color and texture services (relaxers & perms) and heat styling and is also affected by diet and environmental factors such as sun exposure.
To prevent or reduce breakage, it’s important to maintain healthy protein levels in your hair by replacing lost protein after all chemical services with a protein treatment or conditioner (your hair stylist should be doing this at the salon after treatments) and incorporate a protein conditioner in your hair care regimen every 4-6 weeks especially if you straighten your natural hair.
For the most natural at-home treatments that can be used weekly, we like light conditioners like Aubrey Organics GPB (Glycogen Protein Balancing) Conditioner, a nutrient-rich, protein-based conditioner that really re-energizes hair, strengthens hair fiber and repairs damage. This is a product that really delivers on its promises. For monthly treatments, Hairveda Methi Sativa Tea Set is a great option. It’s an ayurvedic-based 2-step treatment system with ingredients like black tea and chamomile that gently treats breakage while restoring moisture. Though we don’t suggest you eat these two products, they are organic and natural-based products that are eco-friendly and effective.
Protein treatments come in different strengths from re-constructors (very damaged hair) to deep treatments (moderate damage) to daily conditioners (little damage). It’s important to keep in mind that with slightly damaged hair, a monthly treatment is more than enough as you don’t want to overly process your hair with too much protein which will only exaggerate the problem with breakage. So you can try opting for a treatment once a month or using GPB weekly to see how your hair responds.
Homemade protein conditioner mixes like egg and mayonnaise for example, while popular and make the hair feel softer, are mostly ineffective as food proteins are too large to penetrate the hair strand without being reduced in size through a process called hydrolyzation. And just like your water consumption, you’ll want to make sure you’re getting an adequate amount of protein in your diet as well. What goes in does come out!
Whether you’re struggling to get a project done, have trouble at home, or are just going through some tough times, the situation will start to represent itself in your hair. Stress can cause you to act roughly towards your hair and do rash things that may provoke an over-processing situation. It can also drive you to neglect your hair. The stress is not good for your hair or your body. Learn how to cope with it.
When Angelica Sweeting heard her young daughter wishing for blonde hair and white skin similar to her doll's, she decided to create "The Angelica Doll" for little girls with curly hair, wider noses, and fuller lips.
The doll comes with hair that you can twist and knot just like real-life natural hair.
Sweeting's Naturally Perfect Dolls Kickstarter campaign has already raised $23,000 of the $25,000 needed to launch production of the doll, which promotes positive beauty ideals and self-acceptance for young girls.
Sweeting and her daughters tested The Angelica Doll's hair for eight months with common natural hair practices, such as twisting, bantu knotting, and curling, to make sure little girls could style and wash their doll's hair exactly how they would do their own.

♦ First off, I want to to stress the importance of supporting Angelica's business. If you have the means to do so you can help her get these dolls made for thousands of little girls by contributing to her kickstarter campaign at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/angelica/the-angelica-doll-a-natural-hair-doll-for-young-gi and hey, I know it's hard out here on these skreets (yeah, I said SKREETS), so if you don't have money to help her get these dolls made then just share this article. Someone else who reads this might contribute and it will be because you let them know about it through sharing this story.
♦ I always love products like these and BlackHairOMG is known for promoting these kinds of businesses and products because they make a difference, I just recently wrote about the coloring book for natural hair kids. When children grow up rarely seeing a positive reflection of themselves in the things that they are entertained by it has a negative psychological effect.
Angelica's daughter thought that the standard of being beautiful was the dolls that she played with and nothing else. Little girls adore their dolls and so she began to adore what she was not and undervalue what and who she is. It's not a conscientious choice she made, it is the mental conditioning that comes from being exposed only to what is the opposite of yourself and being told that it's the most precious thing without seeing any alternatives. Natural hair dolls gives the girls a chance to see beautiful representations of themselves.
♦ This serves as a lesson to myself and you as well as far as business goes too. When you see something missing, something that is needed... MAKE IT. It's much more effective than wishing and hoping for something and it's a great opportunity to build a business, make money while giving people something they need and want. More people need to have the entrepreneurial spirit like Angelica. I'm supporting her, I hope you will too.
Curl Centric has created a new natural hair styles for kids coloring book to give children a positive portrayal of curly-haired people, so they don’t feel isolated by one of their defining features.
Unfortunately, kinky curly hair is often considered a nuisance for those who have it, but its true potential is far more varied than straight hair can be. Unfortunately for curly-haired children, their minority status can see them subject to bullying and derision. As such, it is important that this is counterbalanced with positive messages.
Because the media can't be counted on to portray curly hair in a positive light, people have been left looking for alternatives, and Curl Centric has provided one. They have just published a new Natural Hair Coloring Book for children with curly hair.
The Curly Kids Coloring Book is a new product, and was created because Curl Centric understands the importance of representation. It is important for little girls with textured hair to see images that look like them. The coloring book features more than thirty different images, including action shots, mermaids, princesses and ballerinas with natural hair.
The girls in the coloring books have also arranged their hair in a variety of styles that range from cornrow braids, puffs, two strand twists, bantu knots, wash and gos, locs and many more, to show girls with curly hair the amazing potential their hair has to be defined and redefined.
A spokesperson for Curl Centric explained, “Those with naturally curly hair in the media tend to straighten it, leaving little girls without role models. The coloring book is designed to fill that void and offset the lack of representation. This is just the beginning however, and showing girls it’s possibly to have a curly-haired princess or action hero will open them up to a world of possibilities for their own hair, many of which can be found on our website. The book is available now at Amazon for $5.99.

I wholeheartedly agree with what Curl Centric is doing, they realize that little girls need to see themselves and associate representations of themselves as something pleasant and positive. Natural hair styles for kids is something to be proud of and they need to know that as they grow up. I look forward to seeing more and more products like this in the future, they are long overdue.
If you think that products like this are important, you need to show your support and let others know about it too. Many positive products die on the shelf because they don't get the same level of attention as less-valuable products that get promoted.
The Curly Kids Coloring Book contains more than 30 coloring pages for little girls. The coloring book features a wide variety of natural hair styles for kids, the little girls are wearing natural hair buns, puffs, braids, afros (or low styles), updos, twist-outs, and bantu-knots. Get the colored pencils, crayons, water colors and makers ready. The coloring book is recommended for children age 1 year and older.
